www.railway-eng.com sells an HOn3 injection molded
plastic kit for a 10 ton, 28-foot, Carter Brothers' com
bination ventilated boxcar for $24.95. I assembled a
pre-production kit. The parts in my sample, had little
flash, were accurate, and fit together well. Grab iron
bolt heads, door rail bolt heads, door stops, round
bars in the vent doors, and interior board details have
been molded in place. I had to do some heavy cut-
ting on the floor casting to mount my Kadee*#714
couplers at the right height. However, this may be
easier with N scale coupler boxes. My car with no
added weight runs all over my layout in heavy trains
with no special problems. I understand that these kits
will include instructions by Boone Morrison. Rio
